The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum was established in 1957 by the Blauvelt-Demarest Foundation, a legacy of the late Hiram Blauvelt, philanthropist, conservationist and collector. Through the contribution of his private wildlife art and big game collections, he hoped to promote the cultural value of wildlife art and the need for conservation of its subjects and their habitats.

Explorers Against Extinction 'Sketch For Survival' Wildlife Auction 2018

Sketch for Survival is an annual exhibition and sale of wildlife art in aid of conservation. It is part of a wider conservation campaign called 'Explorers Against Extinction', organized by the UK charity, 'The Real Africa Trust'.  The auction will be open for registrations from September 1st to November 25th, 2018. All profits from the sale of artwork are donated to nominated conservation projects. The artwork will go on tour in October and November to generate publicity.  This will include the prestigious gallery, 'Gallery@Oxo', on London's South Bank as well as two days in NYC.
